Rainbow Bridge

Rainbow Bridge

"The Rainbow Bridge"

There is a bridge connecting heaven and earth,

It is called the Rainbow Bridge because of it's many colors.

Just this side of the Rainbow Bridge there is a land of meadows, hills and

 valleys with lush green grass

When one's beloved Horse dies, the horse goes to this place.

There is always food and water and warm spring weather.

The old and frail animals are young again.

Those who are maimed are made whole again.

They play all day with others found there.

There is only one thing missing,

They are not with their special person who loved them on Earth

So each day they run and play until the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks up!

The nose twitches!  The ears are up!  The eyes are staring!

And this one suddenly runs from the group!

You have been seen.

And when you and your special friend meet you take him or her in your arms and embrace.

Your face is kissed again and again.  And you look once more

into the eyes of your trusting Horse.

Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together.

 Never again to be separated.

MissTangerea Topsail aka Missy

Here is our little Missy.  She was with us such a short time, but she will never be forgotten.  When Missy was born, her momma had her in front of the entire neighborhood.  Bringing the miracle of a horse's birth to city kids.  We lost her to severe colic at just a year old.  Much too soon!

Diego

Diego we will miss you so much.  I know that Missy was waiting for you on the other side of the rainbow bridge.  You were such best friends here on earth and I know your reunion was wonderful.  Play happily together and wait for us when it is our turn to cross the bridge.  We love you!

Cheyenne

You were with us for just a short time, but you brought joy with your nickers and loving rubs.  We will miss you and will fight to help others who were abused like you.

Annie

You made us smile even after all the neglect you suffered.  We were blessed the day we saw you walk into the auction ring and decided to take you home!

Patrivaleonette aka Pat

Pat, an amazing horse given to me when I turned three.  Her mother belonged to my Great Grandpa Weatherford.  She came to us at age 14, only haven been ridden twice a year for cattle roundup.  Any kid could ride her!  She left us at age 28 from kidney failure.

Crystal Eyed Patty aka Patty

Patty was Pat's first filly.  She was a very spunky horse that I loved to ride.  We went everywhere together.  We went on trail rides that lasted all day.  I would pack lunch for us both and we would be gone five or six hours at a time.  She loved to go and was on her way to becoming a wonderful cutting horse.  Her curiosity got the better of her.  When she was ten, she broke down a barbed wire fence, jumped our cattle guard (specifically made wider so horses wouldn't jump), and went for an early morning run with C.C. in tow.  That tragic morning, she was hit by a woman not paying attention (she was putting on her makeup!).  Paralyzed from the back hips down, but unwilling to give up.

Crystal Eyed Bo aka Bo

Bo came to us when I was five and he became my guardian.  I never went anywhere without him and I always knew I would be safe.  I used to lay my head on his stomach and he would watch over me while I napped.  He saved my life at two years old by putting his nose between me and a copperhead snake.  Regardless of that he lived to a ripe old age of 16.
