Emma Updates

8 Jan 2009

Emma loves Delilah.  Her first words at seeing Delilah were "Give Delilah Me!!!"

Wow!  That is Delilah?  What are you talking about Angel?  Finally...Delilah is all mine!  Look at those tiny fingers!  Mom get your hand off...she is mine!  I'm not giving her back!!!

Halloween:

Emma got to go to the preschool Halloween party with Kody.  She loves going to class with Kody!

Okay how do these sissors work?  Oh...Glitter!!!!!  Emma with her pumpkin goodie bag.

Playing Halloween hot potato.  Emma got down to the final three!

20 Aug 2008:

Today really stinks!  I don't get to go to school with the rest of them...well I get to take them to school so mom can take pictures, but I don't get to stay!

See...here I am eating breakfast like a big kid.  I am ready...where's my back pack.  Mom...you forgot to get my backpack!!!  Here I will just use this!

So why aren't you taking a picture of me in front of the door?  Angel...move!

Okay dad, here I come.  I am ready to get in the car.  What do you mean I have to ride with mom???

Look I fit right in!  I found a seat and a puzzle!  Okay...maybe I should have looked at the puzzle before I flipped it over and knocked all the pieces out!

Look even Kody's teacher doesn't notice I am not a class member!  He he he...maybe I can sneak into school after all!

Nope, kicked out...I think I will try Angel's class.  Hmmm...busted getting supplies!

So mom decided to be nice to me since they wouldn't let me stay at school.  She took me out for breakfast and then to the park.  That should have helped, but it kind of made things worse!

I went straight to the merry-go-round and hopped right on.  Too bad someone forgot to put up a wet paint sign!!!  If you look close you can see the green paint on my arms and legs.  Darn it...I even have green paint on my brand new shoes!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay mom, lets put that episode behind us and just go have some fun!

Hmmm...not wet, what do you mean it is too big for me.  Fine I will go play over here!  Ha...and you thought the teeter totter was too big...what do you think now mom??

I can beat this slide!  Climbing up it is kind of fun, but not as much fun as sliding down it!

This slide isn't too bad either...a little shorter and much easier to climb!

Finish off our park visit with a trip to the swings.  I love swinging!

Then Kody had to go to the hospital to have some blood drawn...gross!  I had to go along since mom wouldn't let me stay home by myself!

But look at what I weedled out of the nurses!!!  A Tinkerbell costume!  I have them so wrapped around my fingers!  he he he.

Then it was off to Nana and Papa's for Kody's birthday party.  I just don't understand why he won't let me open the presents.  Obviously they are mis-marked with his name on them instead of mine...you know how adults are!

Hmmm...he isn't looking...maybe I should snatch that present.  See...what did I tell you...this shirt was obviously bought for me...it is even in my size!

Oh well...at least I got some cake!

29 Jul 2008:

Emma really seemed to enjoy our family vacation!  Here are a few pictures to enjoy.

Emma started out enjoying the movie.  She was totally relaxed (can you see her foot on the window?)  Then the long trip took it's toll...finally asleep!

Poor Emma did battle car sickness along the way, but she was a trooper the whole long trip!

Here is Emma trying to figure out where the dinosaur bones are in the Bone Yard at Dinosaur World.  Then it was off to the play area for a little fun.   Emma was absolutely amazed by this big skeleton.  She stared at it with her mouth open for a very long time.

Taking a break from the trip and showing Auntie Lynda what she can do.

31 Mar 2008:

Wow, Emma is 2 now!  We had a lot of fun for her birthday since it was on Easter.  She loved every minute of presents, cake, candy, and eggs.  Here are a few pictures from her birthday!

These were taken the day before her birthday at our house.

Emma getting her presents and trying to keep them from Angel and Kody!

Emma's New dollies.              No! Angel you can't have my baby!

Mommy made me a special cake.             Boy does it taste good!

These were taken at Nana and Papa's house!

Wow!  Look at this paper!                       Oh...that is nice!!!

Can you see me???                    Oh yeah...I like that outfit!

Next Please! I need another present to open!

Oh yeah! A special birthday cupcake.  Too bad I am full!

This is why I was full.  Strawberry Shortcake!  It is better if you eat it like this!!!!

Emma will be turning two in just a little over a week.  It is so hard to believe that she is that old already!  She is a very busy girl and one of the things she loves to do is play dress up!  Here are a couple of pics of her and Angel playing dress up.

Emma turned one year old this year.  She is a very busy girl since just before she reached that mark though!  She learned to walk and to do many, many new things.  She shared her first birthday quietly since it was too cold to go to the park for cake and ice cream!  Instead she shared it with just our family.  She really loved her bunny, Easter egg, and flower cake though!  I made her a little heart shaped cake just for her to eat!

Emma's Cakes!

Pics left to right:  Ohhhh...my own cake.  Hmmm...wonder what it tastes like?  Oh yeah...I LOVE cake!!! Can I have some more?

Emma learned how to go down stairs this year.  It took a lot of hard work and scaring mommy half to death, but she finally figured it out.  Now she is the stair climbing pro, good thing since we have her bedroom in the upstairs!!!

Emma standing at the top of the stairs.

Emma also has learned about sharing a room for the first time with her big sister.  Ever since she was born, Emma has had her very own room, but when we moved to Nebraska, she had to start sharing her room with Angel.  It was a hard adjustment because at first she wanted to play and talk with Angel all night long!  Then she had to adjust to Angel getting up for school in the morning.  But the hardest adjustment was naptime!  There was no way she was sleeping with Angel in the room to play with...especially when it was light out.  So we settled the situation by sending Angel down to mommy and daddy's room for naptime so she could sleep.

Emma has also become quite the talker.  She loves to talk to mommy all day long.  Her favorite thing is when mommy plays what is that!  It is a game where I ask Emma what something is like a cat, dog, or her favorite:  horse!  Emma also loved it when the game evolved to the where is game.  She loves finding her ears, nose, hair, eyes, fingers, toes, and knees!

Her favorite TV shows are Dora, Wonder Pets, and Go Diego Go.  If one of those comes on TV, you can be sure she will be where she can watch them!

We have also discovered that Emma is obsessed with babies!  She loves going to WalMart and pointing out all the babies that she sees.  Her favorite thing is when her cousin, Maison, comes over and she gets to visit with her.  She loves to watch every move she makes and to give her kisses on the top of her head.  This obsession with babies extends to baby dolls.  She is gaining quiet the collection, especially since she stole all of Angel's baby dolls!  She sleeps with every doll she can get her hands on!  There are usually at least six babies in bed with her at naptime and bedtime.  Her new favorites are a dolly she got for Christmas (it has zippers, velcro, things to tie, and buttons!) and her baby pony (not exactly a baby doll, but it talks and has a pacifier...it makes her two favorite things into one...horses and babies!)
